Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson born to British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby & Chris Watson in Paris, France. When she was just five years old and moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled in an Oxfordshire-based Dragon School. Emma was just six when she realized she wanted to be an actor. She studied for a number of years at Stagecoach Theatre Arts, a Part-time theatre school located in Oxford in which she learned acting and singing. When she was 10, Emma had taken part in many Stagecoach productions and plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book began in 1999. Emma was discovered by agent via the recommendation of her Oxford teacher. David Heyman told Emma along together with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe that they had all been through 8 consecutive auditions. Emma's screen debut came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone's debut in 2001. The film is 2001's top production, and it broke records on opening day as well as the first weekend. Film critics praised the film as well as its performances by the three leading actors of the young generation. The Daily Telegraph, an influential British publication, described Emma's acting "amazing". Emma won the Young Artist Award as the most outstanding young actor in an Feature Film. She was later recognized five times in recognition of her performance in the movie.
